On December 26, GAC Group unveiled GoMate, the third-generation self-developed embodied AI humanoid robot at the 2024 Robot China annual meeting. GoMate is the first robot in the industry to feature variable wheel feet. It demonstrates precise motion control, accurate navigation and positioning, as well as flexible and autonomous decision-making capabilities. It also features strong anti-interference, stability, and reliability.

On December 23, the new energy plant of GAC Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. in the Development Zone officially began production. This marked the company’s entry into a new phase of electrification and intelligent development. With a designed annual capacity of 120,000 vehicles, the plant incorporates over 30 world-leading technologies, 50 domestic-leading technologies, and nearly 60 of Honda’s first-ever applied technologies and processes. It also achieves “Zero Carbon on SOP,” creating a new benchmark for “Digital Intelligence—Zero Carbon.”

On December 18, GAC Group launched its new flying car brand, GOVY, along with its first composite-wing flying car, the GOVY AirJet. The AirJet features an innovative “1+1+X” cockpit layout that maximizes internal space. With a range of more than 200 kilometers and support for 30-minute fast-charging technology, it is well suited for intercity travel in the Greater Bay Area.

On November 30, GAC Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on intelligent NEV with Huawei. GAC Group will create a new premium intelligent new energy vehicle brand, in addition to GAC Motor, AION, and HYPTEC. By using this new brand as a platform, both companies will leverage their respective strengths. They will collaborate in product development, marketing, and ecological services, ultimately providing users with a leading intelligent experience.

On November 27, Pony.ai, invested in by GAC Capital, was officially listed on NASDAQ. So far, several enterprises invested in by GAC Capital have been successfully listed. GAC Capital’s investment in the automotive “CASE” field accounts for about 90% of its overall investment amount. Currently, the total market valuation of these invested projects has reached approximately 500 billion RMB.

On November 26, GAC Group officially unveiled its “135” development strategy for commercial vehicles. The strategy set a target of 30 billion RMB in revenue by 2030 and aimed to accelerate the transformation to intelligent commercial new energy vehicles. The Group also released the commercial vehicle T9, a new energy heavy-duty truck. In addition, MiracoMotor unveiled its L platform (the first large-scale application of an intelligent driving platform) along with the MiracoMotor Robobus L60 (the first model based on this platform).

On November 14, the hydrogen-hybrid version of the GAC Motor E9 participated in a demonstration operation of the hydrogen internal combustion engine. Independently developed by GAC, this model is equipped with the MegaWave hydrogen hybrid system. This marked the world’s first on-road demonstration of hydrogen-hybrid vehicle.

On November 13, GAC Toyota celebrated its 20th anniversary with the theme “Advance with Intelligence.” This event marked the beginning of a self-revolution as the company strives to become a leading brand in the era of intelligent electric vehicles. It also unveiled the bZ3X at Auto Guangzhou as its first independently developed intelligent and pure electric SUV.

On November 12, GAC Toyota Engine celebrated the offline of its eight millionth engine. This milestone marked the 20th anniversary of its establishment and highlighted the market’s trust and support for the GAC Toyota Engine brand.

On November 2, GAC Group commenced a major reform of its independent brand management model, shifting from strategic control to operational control. The Group headquarters was relocated to Panyu Auto City. On November 15, GAC Group released its three-year “Panyu Action” at Auto Guangzhou. The plan targets its proprietary brands to account for more than 60% of the Group’s total sales by 2027. This will be achieved through four major actions and five guarantees, with a goal of reaching two million sales for proprietary brands. In addition, GAC Group unveiled five all-new models from its five major brands. This marked the first-ever “simultaneous release of multiple models” from its proprietary brands. These models comprehensively cover the market segments of EV, REEV, and PHEV.

The Chinese Football Association League 2 concluded on October 20. Guangzhou E-Power FC successfully won its first championship trophy in team history. With an outstanding season performance, the team earned 62 points through 19 wins, 5 draws, and 4 losses, achieving the goal of advancing to League 1.

On October 15, a capital increase agreement was signed in Paris, France, by GAC Business, GAC Leasing, and CA Personal Finance & Mobility (CAPFM). Under the agreement, CAPFM will make a strategic investment of 2.1325 billion RMB in GAC Leasing to promote the growth of its auto financing and leasing business and strengthen its presence in the auto finance market. This investment will also enable continued support for the Group’s core sales business.

On October 14, GAC Group participated in the Paris Motor Show 2024, where it unveiled its European Market Plan. The second-generation AION V, a global strategic model, was unveiled, alongside star models such as the GAC Motor ES9, GAC Motor E9 PHEV, HYPTEC HT, and HYPTEC SSR. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in the brand’s development in the European market.

On October 12, Upower Energy Technology Company officially launched production lines including the phase 2 of battery cascade utilization, energy storage system, and parts and components remanufacturing. This not only fully connects GAC Group’s energy ecological industry chain, encompassing battery recycling and cascade utilization, energy storage, and parts and components remanufacturing, but also completes a key link in the new energy vehicle industry chain in Guangzhou.

On September 2, URTRUST Insurance welcomed a new investor, Guangzhou Finance Holdings Group Co., Ltd. (Guangzhou Finance Holdings). With a shareholding ratio of 9.917%, Guangzhou Finance Holdings has become the third-largest shareholder of URTRUST Insurance, following GAC Group (including related parties) and GDD Holding Group.

In September, GAC Hino completed registration of shareholding adjustment. GAC Group became its largest shareholder with an equity share of 89.72%.

On August 8, the Qineng No. 1 power charging station was officially opened. It is the first high-quality integrated energy service station of Zhicheng Industrial.

On August 1, the overseas version of HYPTEC SSR, China’s first mass-produced supercar, officially rolled off the assembly line. This marked the first batch export of Chinese supercars. On December 9, the first overseas HYPTEC SSR was officially delivered in Thailand.

On July 31, GAC Group launched a new media operation and management platform developed by DASHENG Technology. The platform will fully support the brand communication and new media marketing efforts of the Group and its OEMs. By the end of November, it had generated a cumulative exposure of over 300 million.

On July 17, AION’s intelligent plan in Rayong Province of Thailand was officially completed and started production. At the same time, the second-generation AION V rolled off the assembly line in intelligent plants in Thailand and Guangzhou of China.

On July 10, ONTIME Mobility was officially listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with the stock code 09680.HK. Taking the listing as a new starting point, ONTIME Mobility will remain committed to the development of autonomous driving technology to accelerate its large-scale commercialization.

On June 4, GAC Group was approved to start pilot operations of intelligent connected vehicles on public roads. This made GAC one of the first automobile enterprises in China to conduct a pilot operation on public roads with L3 autonomous vehicles.

On May 23, GAC officially launched the “three-in-one” wind tunnel laboratory, which is the world’s first facility that integrates aerodynamics, pneumatic acoustics, and thermodynamics for vehicle testing. It is also the first full-size aerodynamic-acoustic wind tunnel laboratory among Chinese automakers.

On May 9, GAC Component actively advanced its mixed-ownership reform by establishing an intelligent equipment company. As a key initiative in GAC Component’s intelligent manufacturing sector, the company aims to become an industry-leading, platform-based provider of intelligent manufacturing solutions in the future.

On April 29, GAC’s first overseas CKD plant, the Segambut plant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was officially completed and started production. This marks a strategic shift in GAC’s overseas business from CBU-only to a combination of CBU and localized production.

On April 25, GAC Motor launched EV+, a comprehensive, full-cycle, worry-free solution for customers in the new energy era at Auto Beijing 2024. This launch also marked the official announcement of its comprehensive and in-depth partnership with Huawei. The all-new concept car 1 concept, the first strategic result of the joint GAC Motor-Huawei “New” program, was officially launched on September 24.

On April 25, GAC Group unveiled its “Smart Mobility 2027” action plan at Auto Beijing 2024. The plan outlines a three-year roadmap to deliver leading product experiences and travel scenarios. This will be achieved by leveraging three major technologies, namely GAC’s AI-based large model platform, the X-Soul electronic and electrical architecture, and an intelligent connected big data platform.

On April 12, GAC TECH DAY 2024, themed “See the World with New Vision,” was successfully held. The event featured the launch of the Garcia Intelligent Driving System, a leading innovation in China. It also showcased the safe, large-capacity, all-solid-state battery technology. These two technologies, which achieve key technological breakthroughs, are scheduled to be installed in vehicles in 2026.

On March 11, Wuyang-Honda released a new brand slogan, “Wings for Your Dreams,” to reflect its development strategy of upgraded manufacturing and sales for customers. This slogan showcases a new image for Wuyang-Honda.

On February 7, GAC SOFINCO Auto Finance successfully launched its new core system, “Quantum.” This system significantly enhances the company’s operational capabilities, efficiency, and digitalization in financial business.

On January 30, the intelligent ecological MCU plant of Rapow, a subsidiary of AION, was completed and put into production. The new breakthrough in electric motor, the Quark E-motor M25, achieved SOP. This marked GAC Group’s full realization of independent R&D and manufacturing in the field of new energy’s electric motor, battery, electric control. It also completed the layout of an independently controlled industrial chain.

The commendation conference for the “National Engineer Award” was held in Beijing on January 19. The GAC Powertrain Independent R&D team was awarded the title of “National Excellent Engineer Team.”

On January 11, 2024, GAC Group unveiled its Green Smart Vehicle—Home and Super Battery Charging & Swapping Center at the GAC Technology Museum. The GAC Green Smart Vehicle-Home combines Upower Energy’s energy management technology with the intelligent connectivity technology of GAC R&D Center. This collaboration establishes a new ecosystem that seamlessly integrates vehicles with the grid.
