On August 11, the 3rd State-Owned Enterprise Social Value Forum and ESG China Forum 2023 Guangdong Summit, hosted by China Enterprise Reform and Development Society, China Social Responsibility 100 Forum, and ESG Alliance of Central Enterprises, was held in Guangzhou.

 

 

Peng Huagang, Former Member of the Party Committee and Secretary-General of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Chen Wenhui, Former Vice-President of the National Council for Social Security Fund of The People’s Republic of China, Yu Gang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangdong Province, and Liu Lei, Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Vice-Chairman of the China Association for Public Companies, were present and addressed the event. Feng Xingya, President of GAC Group, accepted invitation to the summit and delivered a speech on the topic of “ESG Promotes High-Quality Development and Contributes to Chinese Modernization”.

 

 

Feng Xingya stated that ESG has become an important indicator for evaluating the modernization level of enterprises, and will eventually become the cultural advancement tool for enterprises. GAC Group focuses on technological innovation, digital intelligence empowerment and low-carbon development, fueling Chinese modernization with high-quality development.

 

 

During the event, GAC received several more social responsibility/ESG awards:

GAC Group’s excellent case Reacting Promptly to Build a Strong Defense Against Pandemic was selected in the Research Report on Corporate Social Value of State-owned Enterprises in the Greater Bay Area (2023).

 

 

GAC Group’s excellent case Green Production for Ecological Civilization Development was included in the first edition of the Research Report on Listed Companies Controlled by Stated-owned Enterprise in the Greater Bay Area (2023).

 

  

 

Four excellent cases including Innovation-driven Development for Comprehensive Transformation Towards a Science and Technology Enterprise and Leveraging SOE Value to Support Rural Revitalization were selected in the Blue Book on Social Value and ESG of State-owned Enterprises in Guangzhou (2023).

 

 

                        

The Forum released the lists of Top 50 Pioneers among ESG Listed Enterprises in GBA and Top 30 Pioneers among SOEs in GBA for ESG Development Index, in which GAC Group ranked 10th and 1st respectively.

Moreover, GAC Group ranked 28th in the Top 100 Pioneers among China’s ESG Listed Companies list led by CCTV.

 

 

In addition, a corporate ESG management system (group standard) and GBA ESG initiative were launched.

 

 

 

    During the event, GAC Group showcased its ESG achievements at the venue and displayed the star models of its own brand, namely, GAC Motor GS8 and E9 as well as AION V Plus and HYPTEC GT, attracting the attention of leaders and guests.
